July 4th Update on Jeff and Ashlie
Some of you may remember that last 4th of July, on my blog I wrote a tribute to my son Jeff who was in Baghdad with the 127th MP unit where he served as a gunner on an armored Humvee. Looking back it was a time of anxiety contrasted with some very joyful things we all have experienced since they returned home. First, both Jeff and Ashlie have been accepted to the University of Colorado in Boulder where they will finish universty. Second both of them, as of yesterday...through a long process, have received in-state tuition which is HUGE for them. Third, they have been pursued to work as interns with Campus Crusade's High School ministry where they will pioneer the ministry with students at Silver Creek High School in Longmont. Some wonderful people from the Longmont have also given them a house to live in. They will be moving up to Colorado the end of July after they have their financial support raised. That means we get to be closer to them and also the opportunity to see baby Gentry more often...and maybe even baby sit occassionally. "Those who sow in tears will return with joy."

So awesome. I was in the office on the 3rd listening to Bert talk to someone about heling Ashley get out of state tuition waved and while he was talking he got an email that she got it. (I was half-listening so maybe I got it wrong.) Praise be to Jesus! And you get to reap the benefit with having them close.
That was supposed to be 'helping'. Not sure what 'heling' is.
